Terms of Service

Heritage Glassworks USA
Last updated: September 9, 2026

These terms apply to every pre-order placed through this website. Placing a deposit means you agree to them. Please read the payment and cancellation sections closely — they explain when and how your card is charged.

1. Who we are

Heritage Glassworks USA (“we,” “us,” “our”) makes handmade stained glass windows to order. Our address is 2200 Swainwood Drive, Glenview, IL 60025. Questions about an order can be sent to heritageglassworksusa@gmail.com.

2. What you are buying

Each window is made individually after you order it. We do not hold finished stock. Because every piece is cut and assembled by hand, small variations in glass tone, texture, and finish are normal and are not defects.

The listed dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly. Photographs on this site are representative; the piece you receive will differ in minor ways from any image shown.

3. How pre-ordering works

Your deposit. You pay $100 today. This holds your place in the current production run and locks the founding price of $1,999 for your window.

Production. Your window enters the build queue when you place your order. Typical delivery is four to six weeks from order, covering both production and shipping. These timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

The balance. The remaining $1,899 is charged to the same payment method when your order leaves the workshop. We will email you before production begins, and again when your order ships.

Total price. $1,999. Applicable sales tax and any shipping charges are additional and will be shown at checkout.

4. Payment authorization

By placing a deposit you authorize us to charge the remaining balance of $1,899 to the payment method you provided, at the time your order ships, without taking further payment details from you.

We will email you before production starts on your window. Orders typically sit in the queue for several days first, so that email gives you time to cancel before the deposit becomes non-refundable and before the balance is charged. See Section 5.

If the balance charge fails, we will contact you at the email address on your order. We may hold or cancel the order if payment cannot be completed within 7 days.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Before production starts. You may cancel at any time before we begin work on your window, for any reason, and receive a full refund of your $100 deposit. To cancel, reply to your order confirmation or email us at heritageglassworksusa@gmail.com. We will confirm the cancellation and issue the refund to your original payment method. Refunds usually appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

We do not begin work on an order the moment it is placed. Orders sit in the queue for several days before production starts, and we email you before it does — so you will always have time to cancel, and you will never be charged the balance on the same day you are told production has begun.

After production starts. Once we email you that production has begun, materials have been cut for your specific window and the deposit is no longer refundable. The balance will be charged when the order ships.

If we cancel. We may cancel any order at our discretion — for example if we cannot fulfill it, or if a listing contains a pricing or description error. If we cancel, you receive a full refund of everything you have paid. We are not liable for anything beyond that refund.

6. Shipping and delivery

We ship to addresses within the United States. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery to the carrier. Delivery dates are estimates and we are not responsible for carrier delays.

Inspect your window on arrival. If it arrives damaged, contact us within 14 days with photographs of the packaging and the piece so we can arrange a replacement or refund.

7. Returns

Because every window is made to order, we do not accept returns for change of mind once a piece has shipped. Damaged or defective pieces are covered under Section 6.

8. Care and safe use

Windows are supplied ready to hang and are intended as decorative interior pieces. They are not rated as building glazing and should not be installed as a structural or exterior window.

Dust with a dry cloth. Do not use cleaning products on the metalwork.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, photographs, and designs — belongs to Heritage Glassworks USA or is used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our written consent.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We provide our products and this website “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect on the date you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
